Hi,

I am not able to open any jpeg files whether using gqview, evince, or eye of Gnome (firefox works though).
I guess my jpeg library is corrupted, unfortunately i dont know where to look at.
Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks,

There is media-libs/jpeg.
You could try re-emerging it. :)

Did that but still not working.... :(

Here is the debug of gqview

I see that it didn't load jpeg module and there is some jpeg-related error.

That is strange because the USE flags for most image formats are included in most profiles.
What is your /etc/make.profile pointing at?
And if you run
Code:
emerge --info
are the jpeg, png ..... USE flags included in the USE section?

make.profile pointing at:

and here is my emerge --info

I think I just added "jpeg" in USE recently (after i found out this problem) but portage refused to re-emerge my gqview with the new USE, complaining it is not outdated (I specified --newuse).

GQView gets its jpeg support from gtk+
Re-emerging gtk+ with the jpeg use flag set should solve your problem.

You may also have to re-enable jpegs in the GQView preferences for them to be visible in the file pane.

revdep-rebuild. Posting an actual error message would get you better help.

Think twice before hijacking/bumping a five year old thread for such a vague problem, please.
