"Valgrind is a GPL'd tool to help you find memory-management problems in your programs. When a program is run under Valgrind's supervision, all reads and writes of memory are checked, and calls to malloc/new/free/delete are intercepted."
It's as close to Purify as you will get under Linux today. This would be a super tool to make available via emerge. |

I agree and wish I knew how to design ebuilds. One of these days I'll figure it out and host an ebuild or two But I definitely want to start working with Valgrind!
