Hi,

I am running gentoo-sources-3.16.5 along with KDE-4.12.5. Upowerd today started eating up 70% memory and brought the desktop computer to its knees. I had to do a kill -9 upowerd to bring back the system. Anybody knows what may be the reason of this high cpu usage.

My system has sys-power/upower-0.99.1 installed and i dont use systemd.

Code:

#emerge --info

Can't say I've seen something like that, but the upower command line tool has a -m switch. If that happens again, maybe running "upower -m" in a terminal will show any hint. Maybe some kind of hardware failure is flooding it with events or something...

It is the Logitech K800 wireless keyboard which is causing the issue.
