Today the pages here at the forums never stop loading (in firefox-bin-17.0.9 -- yes, I know that's old). The page content appears to be complete, but the status message says "Read piwik.gentoo.org" forever and the spinner just spins and spins until I hit ESC. Not sure anything can be done about this, but maybe someone can look into it?
Note that the only mentions of "piwik" in the page source (as I compose this message) are in:
Code: | <!-- Piwik -->
<script type="text/javascript">
var pkBaseURL = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://piwik.gentoo.org/" : "http://piwik.gentoo.org/");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + pkBaseURL + "piwik.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script><script type="text/javascript">
try {
var piwikTracker = Piwik.getTracker(pkBaseURL + "piwik.php", 3);
piwikTracker.trackPageView();
piwikTracker.enableLinkTracking();
} catch( err ) {}
</script><noscript><p><img src="/1x1.gif" style="border:0" alt="" /></p></noscript>
<!-- End Piwik Tracking Code --> |
And new-tab connections to both http://piwik.gentoo.org/ and https://piwik.gentoo.org/ never get beyond the "Connecting" stage.
Looks like piwik.gentoo.org is just not responding.
EDIT: Marked "[FIXED]".

You tracked down the problem fairly well, thanks for the writeup.
The web services on the host that piwik is served from appear to be entirely unresponsive. The infrastructure team knows and will be handling the server and the services on it. On this end, I disabled the piwik widget until the service can be restored, since it is doing nothing useful while the service is down.
Edit: the service is back up now, and the piwik widget has been reactivated. |
