After rebooting(no changes done to the system)
I find myself with no sound
pavucontrol and alsamixer state that audio is working find, I've tried both speakers and earphones, got nothing
rebooted into another root, and sound is working fine
any tips on where to start?

all those tips just disable the sound card for me |

here's something interesting
in pavucontrol, the only output device is the HDMI/diplsay port(unplugged)
I'm guessing there's something wrong there
I haven't messed aroudn with my kernel in a long while now, so I know it's probably not there |

solved by selecting a different config from the config tab in pavucontrol:
analog stereo duplex instead of digital stereo[hdmi] output |
