|After updating my system and re-starting nfs, I get the message:
|# * Exporting NFS directories ... [ ok ]
* Starting NFS mountd ... [ ok ]
* Starting NFS daemon ...
rpc.nfsd: Setting version failed: errno 22 (Invalid argument) [ ok ]
* Starting NFS smnotify .
Although the exported directories are accessible from the NFS clients, locking doesn't work.
The kernel log is full of lines like the :
|Sep 20 12:22:16 <server name> kernel: lockd: cannot monitor <client name> |
I deleted and re-created the directories
ensuring proper ownership.
lockd was running.
The problem was resolved by rebooting, but I would really prefer not to have to reboot. Can anyone explain?
