Should I wait for glibc 2.3?

Hey guys,
I'd like to install Gentoo on one of my partitions, but I have a couple of questions regarding the recently released glibc.

1. How hard would it be to install a system based on glib 2.2.5 and then upgrade to glib 2.3....that is, would it require a complete recompilation of all dependent sources? Would it basically amount to reinstalling? If so, I'm thinking I will wait until there is a release based on glib 2.3.

2. Any ideas on when a 2.3 release will be....uh..released (heh, allow myself to introduce....myself)?

There's a freeze going on - I wouldn't expect Glibc 2.3 in Gentoo soon, I hear plenty tales of system borkage, so it might need some time to be patched up real good..
