Hi, I am trying to get GOCR character recognition going.
However, /app-text/gocr/gocr-0.3.4.ebuild fails:
...

I can create the missing directories manually, but this does not progress the installation. The one thing I find remarkable is, that /usr/share/texmf/fonts is owned by user: 501 and group: 501. AFAIK these don't exist in my system
What's wrong? |

Hi,
Try to fill a bug report at https://bugs.gentoo.org
I think it's the best way to get that kind of problem fixed, tough not the easiest.
Good luck,

I'm not 100% sure it's a bug, or a configuration issue.
If someone had the same experience, I'll happily submit this as a bug, so pls let me know
Even an emerge --emptytree gocr did not change a bit.
[edit] I am sure this is a bug: I ran into it again on a clean install with only X and rp-pppoe installed: exactly the same thing as before. |

Yep, you're not alone. I get the same error. |

Sorry to hear that:
gocr 0.3.6-r2 worked nicely for me since the bug has been closed. |
