|
|
A few days ago I installed gentoo 1.4-rc1 and I`m having problems with mozilla ( tried 1.0-r1 and 1.1), it seems that somehow, it doesn`t save my configuration ( home page, proxy settings, etc...every option in the preferences, except for the theme selection), and the back button always shows the pressed image...what am I doing wrong? I`ve emerged and unmerged 1.0-r1 and 1.1 with no luck...erased ~/.mozilla over and over but nothing happens...any ideas? |

I have a similar problem my back button is always pushed .... and I can't change my font setting... well i can but I cant save it. Mozilla had some problem with gcc 3.x ... but i'm not sure if its gcc or mozilla itself. My gentoo 1.2 withh gcc 2.95.x was able to make to those thing.
Dunno how to resolve the problem. |

I don't remember hearing about this before. What type of filesystem holds your home directory? Does running mozilla as root behave differently? What CFLAGS and USE flags were used to compile mozilla? _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

my home dir is in an reiserfs partition, running as root makes no difference at all.
CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon-tbird -march=i686 -funroll-loops -fomit-frame-pointer -O3 -pipe"
I`ll try later with no CFLAGS at all, let`s see if thats the problem. |

I would try "-mcpu=athlon-tbird -march=i686 -O2 -pipe" and see if that fixes anything. Mozilla (1.1) would sometimes peg my CPU or fall over on me with "-march=athlon -O3" using GCC 3.2, but it is behaving much better since I backed off to -O2. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
