Not sure if this would be Desktop Environment related, but here goes.
When i load pages in mozilla my mose jerks, does not update is self as fast as it should. Is this a Mozilla problem, USB problem, or am i just crazy ? heh Wondering if anybody else gets this. Like if i were to press the back button in mozilla right now, and then move the mouse while it loads, it will jerk and not be nice a smooth.
How many of you use USB and have this, how many of you use ps/2 and have this?
SHould i see any differents useing USB or ps/2 with a Logitech Optical mouse (ifeel it has too but that is a windows thing) |

I dont have this problem. try using hdparm to tweak your harddrive. Like for example hdparm -t /dev/hda will bench mark it, and then you can apply stuff like hdparm -d1 -c1 -X69 /dev/hdx. it sounds like you need to do some tweaking. Also do you have preemp and low lantancy enabled in your kernel?
reply with your hdparm -t /dev/hdx scores. |

Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 6.04 seconds = 10.59 MB/sec
after using your command up there
thebox kappax # hdparm -t /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 7.38 seconds = 8.67 MB/sec |

another thing, for usb what is betst to use
/dev/input/mice
/dev/input/mouse0
and what is this event0 stuff if i cat it does somewhat what if i cant mouse0 does but it looks like different code |

i have preempt but how do i enable low lantancy ? |

whoohoo seems to be fixed 
I have not see it yet, I downloaded the 2.4.19 kernel from kernel.org. got the low latency patch and the preemimpt patch compiled and installed and whoohoo it dont seem to jerk the mouse any more. Or if it is still do ing it not so it bothers me so much that i see it |

| Best to use mouse0 instead of mice, as I don't think the latter supports special ways of resetting the mouse, such as for enabling all of the buttons or the scrollwheel for IntelliMouse and the like. I could be wrong, though. |
