How to remove, or successfully COMPLETELY disable APIC from the kernel? Using 2.6.4-r1 gentoo sources.

simply add this to your grub.conf as Kernel Parameter
acpi=off

its all in there in menuconfig, or xconfig, or whatever your flavour.... you can also follow Luigi's advice... it will still be in the kernel, but not loaded/used. |

I think you mean apic=off as in the topic, don't you?
