Hello, this is the third iso i've tried and im getting extremly frustated by these kernel panics all the time, it comes when i boot.

Code:

cdrom: open failed.
tar: cdrom/etc.tar: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting
tar: cfrom/var.tar: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting
/linuxrc: /ram/bin/cat: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/chroot: /sbin/init: No such file or directory
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!
Press L1-A to return to the boot prom

Any ideas, i've been searching around the forums and Google.com but nothing usable afaik.

Thanks for ANY help at all.

I guess you haven't gotten to that point yet, but to warn you in advance Linux 2.4.x is broken on SMP sparc32 machines like yours:

My CD-ROM is set to ID 6, it's simpler that way because when using the BPROM (think it's called that) it searches for the CD at ID 6.

Hmm, unstable kernel, ack...i'll guees i'll have to wait for the 2.6?

Btw. im thinking of using the 2.2 kernel, how far back do i need to go to get the latest livecd or similar using 2.2?
