I just upgraded to kernel 2.6.4, and for some strange reason when I boot the new kernel, the keymap is completely messed up. When I type "z", I get "[2~", when I type "x" I get an "=", when I tap caps lock, I get a "t". I am using a Type 6 keyboard. Thanks in advance. |

Read this first:
http://dev.gentoo.org/~ciaranm/docs/sparc-2.6.x/
Specifically, try setting KEYMAP="" in /etc/rc.conf.
Works for me with a US type5c keyboard and 2.6.4. |

You need to comment out the line in /etc/rc.conf which specs the keymap:
Other 2.6 upgrade suggestions may be found here:
