hello,
i use kdm, which lets me choose what wm i want to use. gdm does the same thing...
try typing gdm or kdm to see how they work...
if you want you can add them to boot, by typing rc-update add default kdm (or gdm)

Not really. As far as rc-update is concerned, they're all xdm, and it's: Code: | # rc-update add xdm default | ...after which you set the DISPLAYMANAGER variable in /etc/rc.conf.
AzazeL, you can either go this route (the ?dm way), or if you prefer startx, look at the XSESSION variable in /etc/rc.conf. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

I think it's better for you not to use any *dm (xdm/gdm/kdm) at the moment, start X manually. just add in ~/.xinitrc and run startx. Once you fix your X configs, it's a safe time to use *dm. it really s***s when X is not properly configured and you are using *dm. |
