I upgraded from 3.0.1 to 3.0.3 on a Gentoo 1.2 system and now when I start KDE i get a popup saying that no mimetypes can be found. I check the mimelnk directory and they're all there. Not only that, but after installing 3.0.3 I ran an 'emerge clean' but it said I had no outdated packages. Shouldn't it have gotten rid of 3.0.1? I can still use my system but it's a pain because everything has to be run from a konsole. Not only that, but when I try to go into the control panel, the window pops up but there are no options on the left. Thanks in advance for any help. |

It is possible that they were using different slots, in that case clean won't remove them. You can run:
To see duplicate packages, and then remove them by running:
Code: | emerge -C =<package_and_version> |
For example:
Code: | emerge -C =kdelibs-3.0.1 |
The = sign instructs it to unmerge only the specific version of the packages (instead of unmerging everything). _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |
