Hi Everyone.
I am very new to this. I have ever had windows as my 2nd system, to play mohaa and other things. I am doing a MOHAA community page, so i am asking how to get MoH to work under wine. I just don't know what to do. I just don't know how to configure wine, and how that works with quake engines.
Could ANYONE tell me really good tutorials. Everything i found was just stupid and not useable.
tia

Never played the game, though I believe it's based on the Quake III engine -- might check around for tutorials on getting Quake III installed under wine and see if those are also applicable to Medal of Honor.

MOHAA doesn't run in Wine, yet. I just voted for WineX to support the game, so hopefully it'll work with WineX eventually. |

it should be relatively easy, because it is quake3, and the menus are opengl, unlike half life. i ran quake3(the windows ver) in wine just to test, and it worked perfectly. i didnt hav to configure it much at all, just a basic config file. mohaa should be pretty easy to at least get running. |

what flavor of Wine do ya use autobot? I'm a little curious if it runs in WineX, and if it does, why they had a vote to support it. |

Wow.
You got MOHAA to run w/ Wine out of the box? That's pretty impressive. You got any screen shots? |

I will try to capture a screenshot, as of now my mouse gets pulled into the window even though that particular option is not enabled. _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |

I've got MOHAA to work via WineX somewhat. Graphics are sleek as they should be, but my sound is lagged (shoot, count 2...3...4.. BANG!) and it tends to bomb out at random points. I've played this game to death in Windows so I really havnt tried very hard to get it to work properly, theres JKII to play!

Autobot, what does your config file look like. The only games I've played in Gentoo are Quake3 and RTCW, I didn't have to use Wine or Winex.
I'm haveing trouble getting wine to even work to play this game.
After I emerged wine, I get the following:
root@morpheus cdrom # wine setup.exe
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:
ERROR: You need to merge the 'winedefault.reg' file into your
Wine registry by running: `regedit winedefault.reg'
All I did after the emerge, was mkdir /c/windows/system Is that ok? |

Look in /etc/wine for a file named config, that is a good place to start. _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |
