If you're not a Debian refugee, ignore this post.
Let's see. Code: | $ cat /etc/gentoo_version
cat: /etc/gentoo_version: No such file or directory |

Well, I select 1.4-rc1, but it'sactually the old ".1.4" from a month ago. Nothing strange is going on, so I haven't felt the need to upgrade. As long as I keep "emerge -u world"ing, I'm not missing anything , right? |

Still with 1.2.
Next week I will try 1.4 (the last version) on one box, if everything works fine, I move it to my main box too. Wish me luck! |

It's a good thing they're not like ACTUAL snowflakes, otherwise those of us without high-tech vapor-phase cooling systems would be compiling tiny puddles by now. _________________ "An empty head is not really empty; it is stuffed with rubbish. I use both 1.2 and 1.4. I actually like trying out a bunch of the different installs. I'm looking into possibly doing some benchmarking stuff later, but it's kinda hard to do all that with school kicking my butt.

Yeah, so do I. I think my lack of nocturnal quiescence is the very thing driving all my marbles out of their labled, well organized bins to parts unknown...
Actually, I'm betting they're in my couch cushions with everthing else. _________________ "An empty head is not really empty; it is stuffed with rubbish. Hence the difficulty of forcing anything into an empty head."

Well, let's see...
david@pilot david $ ls -la /etc/make.profile
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 39 Sep 15 14:04 /etc/make.profile -> ../usr/portage/profiles/default-x86-1.4
I'm guessing +1.4-rc1 then... |

None of the above for both my AMD 1.4 and my Thinkpad T20: 1.0-rc6.
I am, however, planning to upgrade to 1.4 once it comes out, and once I get off my butt to replace my broken CDR (or go to a friend's house with a CDR). |
