It won't compile... Error message:

/var/tmp/portage/qt-3.0.5-r2/work/qt-x11-free-3.0.5/bin/uic tableeditor.ui -i tableeditor.h -o tableeditor.cpp
make[3]: *** [tableeditor.cpp] Segmentation fault

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

I think we have tracked this all back to a bad stage3 (which i built) and the fact that using -maltivec for G4 also seems to require using -mabi=altivec. Doing some more testing, but until then I highly reccomend people grab the stage1-ppc tarball and build up from there. Going from a stage1 with both of these compiler flags seems to be ok for everyone (so far).

Will keep everyone informed as we find out more.

Thanks for the quick reply (again)

So it isn't a good idea to start from a Stage3 G4 install? I figured that was safe, but I guess not. Should I go back and do Stage 1? For the maltivec option I merely uncommented the line in make.conf, and I guess -mabi=altivec wasn't there. Thanks for the info.
