Ok, this really makes me feel dumb. I have tried to post with html and emoticons, choose an avatar. None of this seems to work for me.

Please help this poor forum newbie, to add an avatar and add emoticons to posts.

Ok, never mind the avatar part. :'/

HTML and javascript are disabled. You need to use BBCode instead.

Regarding emoticons, when you're posting a message, you'll see a whole list of emoticons to your left. Simply click on one to insert that specific emoticon into your message.

Play around in the /dev/null forum to get a feel for how bbcode works. That's a test forum, so you can post all the test messages you want without worrying about someone flaming you. :) Once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake. (especially since you already know html)

Hmm, must have something in my browser disabled. Thought I tried that.
