|
|
I can't seem to get any truetype fonts to appear in gimp. I've allready checked my /etc/X11/XF86Config and truetype is listed for font directories. After I added freefonts which I had just emerged, they appeard in gimp just fine. But my truetype fonts won't.
On the other hand, Type1 and truetype are listed in XftConfig as fonts to AA, I know for a fact truetype doesn't come up in gimp, but I'm not possitive whether Type1 does or not - it might be, I really can't tell
Is it a problem in XftConfig? I don't think it's in XF86Config. And other then that, I'm lost for ideas. |

I am using gimp 1.3.8 which can see my truetype fonts, maybe you need to upgrade? |

Mmm, just because I ran an emerge rsync earlier today and ran emerge -u world I assumed I had the lastest, I forget that there might have been a masked ebuild, which there appears to be. Emerging it now, we'll see how it goes. |

Well I was able to upgrade to 1.3.7. That worked, the truetype fonts are recognized. But it seems that text manipulation is a bit buggy or completely broken, considering I can't seem to do more then get it to write gimp. Or maybe I just don't know how to do it, regardless, help is a bit broken.
Well, I'll probably just wait around a little. |

I used gimp 1.3.x but it's text rendering is VERY broken. What I did was emerge gimp-1.2.3-r2 and gimp-freetype-0.2 . You can access ttf fonts in the Filters->Render->Freetype menu. |
