Kernel 2.6 not booting from md with mkinitrd

Hi,

I have created a raid1 md-device on 2 ide-discs and installed gentoo on the md device.

Md is compiled in the kernel and raid1 is compiled as module. Devfs is left out the kernel.

Disklayout:
/dev/md0 /boot (hda1 + hdb1)
/dev/md1 swap (hda2 + hdb2)
/dev/md2 / (hda3 + hdb3)

The error I get is:
Mounting root file system
mount : error 6 mounting reiserfs
pivotroot : pivot_root (/sysroot, /sysroot/initrd)
failed 2

I get the problem with 2.6.2 and 2.6.3. The same configuration works fine with 2.4.

Anybody suffering from the same problem?

just check the obvious, but you have either compiled ReiserFS into the kernel, or checked that the ReiserFS module has been included in your initrd?

I have copied all the files to a system with only one disk ansd it boots perfectly.

It has something to do with md and initrd.
