ive been looking at many people's desktops, and I see a pretty common system monitor. it has mem, cpu, net, etc. i usually see it vertically on the left or right of the screen, and it has an afterstep look to it (size of tiles, position)

can anyone help me find this ? it looks like it would be just what I need.

thanks

Mike

Code:
exec gkrellm
as last line in ~/.xinitrc i assume (currently i dont have any X11 installation running so i cant verify this right now)

Definitely don't want this as the last line. The last line in .xinitrc should be something that sets up you desktop env. or wm, e.g., startkde/twm, etc. You should have such a line already. You need to put it anywhere before the last line that invokes fluxbox... man startx for more details.

Also, above assumes that you are using startx. Things are different for the *dm's. They use the .xsession file typically and not .xinitrc.

thanks guys - putting the line before the "exec fluxbox" worked fine.
