New installation of gentoo 1.4_rc1 on an Athlon 800 with 256 MB of RAM. The installation started without a hitch, and has been sitting at

>> MD5 ;-) glibc 2.2.5.tar.bz2
>> MD5 ;-) glibc-linuxthreads-2.2.5.tar.bz2

for the last 40 minutes.

Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this an forge ahead?
