emerge sync is getting 6.18 linux-header and my gentoo-sources is 6.12.58

6.18 is technically LTS and is due to get marked "longterm" pretty soon on the kernel's site -- and we are thinking about stabilizing it maybe soon'ish (not that we necessarily stabilize LTS branches right away, only when we feel they're solid enough a few versions in).Hu wrote:sys-kernel/gentoo-sources was updated to offer 6.18.x and 6.19.x as the corresponding upstream versions came out. fwiw I was referring to the main page where it still says "stable:" rather than "longterm:" as of the writing of this, but yeah. That it was the next LTS is always decided a long time before that's done.pietinger wrote:It already is (since 2025-12-03):Ionen wrote:6.18 is technically LTS and is due to get marked "longterm" pretty soon on the kernel's site [...]
