MATE is my favourite desktop environment, and I would like to use it with one of my favourite themes "Mint-X". Installing Mint themes from the official repository is simple and straightforward, but it doesn't seem to work as intended: the panels become flat white, and I don't find it pretty. Everything else (menus, windows, etc) seems to be looking nice, as it should in other desktop environments supported by Linux Mint officially, Cinnamon and Xfce. Speaking of Xfce, the panels there do not change significantly (at all?), and I'm satisfied by the overall look of Xfce with Mint-X theme. I might be picky and exacting at this point, though I feel like the Mint-X theme doesn't integrate with MATE as well as with Xfce. I'd like to find out if someone else had experience with Mint themes on MATE/Xfce outside of Linux Mint, if they encountered any inconsistencies, and if they tried taking action to resolve them (perhaps rewriting the theme code or switching to another window manager?) Thank you.

Description: A set of MATE themes, with sets for users with limited or low vision

Been awhile since I tried to make things fancy in that environment, past messing a little with what comes in the above. Usually avoids more unexpected breakage when upstream puts out a new release.

I'm referring to the official Linux Mint themes: https://github.com/linuxmint/mint-themes
Mint-X, to be more specific. You can run the generate_themes.py script, then copy the result either to / (the generated folder is usr/share/themes), or to ~/.themes.
