Here's fallout 4's proton-log, and the proton-log for rdr2. They're 2 different errors, but I can't fix either one. Fallout 4 works if I try to launch 1.10.984 version, but that's incompatible with most mods so I'm trying to make 1.10.163 work. It fails either on launch, or after pressing a key after intro video. I've tried reading the log to find the error. The only one I can figure out is openxr, but I don't know how to fix it.
With rdr2 it's missing a vulkan-1.dll for fsr, but I don't know how to get that dll for it. I've tried using winetricks to install dxvk, vk3d, but it didn't solve the issue. |

Regarding the Red Dead and vulkan error. . .
I use Bottles to play games, but this might offer some insight. For my setup, the file maybe is provided by the runners (runtimes) installed in bottles.
I have these files in the runners directories (provided by wine-ge and wine-ge-proton some time in the past):
wine-ge-7-24/lib64/wine/x86_64-windows/vulkan-1.dll
wine-ge-proton7-35/lib/wine/i386-windows/vulkan-1.dll
It seems that I also find this in every prefix:
drive_c/windows/system32/vulkan-1.dll
drive_c/windows/syswow64/vulkan-1.dll
I am not familiar with steam, how to set it up or get it working but hopefully that will help you figure out how that translates to your steam installation and what might be missing.

idk why but i personally never made fallout 4 and skyrim work on linux. it's really buggy everything i tried to do didn't work not even or arch linux. other games like witcher 3, a couple of windows apps ran fine on wine when i used arch.
i hate to say this, but i think windows is your best bet for running bethesda games in my opinion, i dual boot windows just for that. _________________ https://github.com/ingenarel

There's just something I'm missing that's resulting in the crashing. |
