|

Hi everyone again, yesterday during a problem with a patch that failed to apply with GCC14-9999, I decided to completely update kde-plasma to have everything up to date with emerge @kde-plasma-live , during the recompile of the KDE packages, kwin fails due to an apparently syntax error (I don't know if it is):

Also, in SDDM Plasma can't start on Wayland (I only got it to start on X11), I don't know if it's because of the issue I have installed, but the top bar of the applications DOESN'T APPEAR (except for Steam and Firefox). I can't close the applications with F4 (only with kill or killall or via htop) and I can't switch from one window to another overlay.
I synced the repositories today but they don't solve this (not the GCC one either, but I didn't come to gcc now).
If anyone knows a solution I'd appreciate it.
Note: I tried all this yesterday and I can't say exactly when the kwin problem started (last week kwin compiled as usual without problems). _________________ I like everything that is Linux, free and open source software. I am a teenager |

Problem solved, downgrade GCC 14.3.9999 to GCC-20241123, and kwin can be compiled successfully and just by logging out and trying to start in Wayland it works.
apparently a change in gcc (that's my theory) caused kwin to not be compiled, also when I assumed it had to do with the compiler and wanted to try to recompile gcc14, but as a patch failed to be applied, I decided to downgrade the toolchair version to an unstable, but stable one .
I will have to start recompiling everything with GCC14, but I will do it in time. _________________ I like everything that is Linux, free and open source software. I am a teenager |

Yeah. Compiler is something you want to have as a stable version. ;) _________________ ..: Zucca :..

Still, I'll leave GCC 15 and GCC 13 at 9999, since they are secondary and portage doesn't use them (I only have gcc14 configured as default compiler), if something happens to them like broken patches, it wouldn't cause me problems with system packages and I could recompile packages with gcc 14 without breaking anything _________________ I like everything that is Linux, free and open source software. That error looks far more like one of the KDE libraries changed sometning and something else needs porting to it. |
