mysql and mariadb being abandoned?

Gentoo is missing the 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3 releases of MySQL, and it's also missing the entire 11.x series of releases of MariaDB. Are these databases being abandoned by Gentoo? Ironically, PostgreSQL is up-to-date.

Packages are added when an interested maintainer chooses to add them. If MariaDB is lagging behind, that suggests there are no Gentoo developers interested in adding the new versions. It does not mean that MariaDB will be abandoned, though it is possible that treecleaners will step in if MariaDB lags too far behind and becomes a widespread problem. I see dev-db/mariadb-11.3.2 version bump requesting newer versions be added.
