Gnome logs into black screen only cursor visible (not frozen

Hi,

I'm trying to debug the following issue.

When I boot and type my password Gnome logs into a black screen, where only the cursor is visible, which is moving fine. 
To fix this, I must log in to one of the terminals, kick out myself as a user, and reboot.After this process, I can log in and everything works fine.
I guess that the issue is somehow related to the system's sleep and tries to reload.However, I have no idea how to start to debug this issue.

Please could somebody help?
