profile for gnome, systemd, merged-user, and no-multilib

New install.

Current profile:
default/linux/amd64/17.1/no-multilib/systemd/merged-usr

Desired profile:
default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop/gnome/systemd/merged-usr

I do not want multilib.

If I set the 'Desired profile' and put in make.conf something like this:

USE="... -multilib ..."


Would this achieve my goal?

No ! :lol:

Use-flag "multilib" ist set (hardcoded) from the used profile ! You cannot disable it.

Every desktop profile is (today) a Multilib-profile. If you want a No-Multilib + desktop you must concatenate these profiles. See more here:

(yes, I have Plasma+No-multilib)
