New to gentoo.
How do go about requesting a package for gentoo?
I would like to install Variety wallpaper changer in gentoo.

You add the overlay to your install and there is an ebuild here
The bad news is that ebuild is for EAPI=5 and its 10 years old.EAPI=5 support has been both banned and removed form portage.

That ebuild also installs 0.4.2 but the current version is 0.8.12, so you want a newer one.

Step 1 is to search the web for a variety ebuild. It may be there.
