http://packages.gentooexperimental.org/amd64-unstable
http://packages.gentooexperimental.org/amd64-stable

Above repos come back 404.

Have these repos been eliminated or relocated?

If moved, what is/are new url/urls?

I'm not aware if this site is an official gentoo site, but I've found a wiki page https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Experimental_binary_package_host

Yes, i'd be interested to know whether gentooexperimental.org was (or still is) an official Gentoo host. Certainly the only 'experimental' repo i'm aware of is the one mentioned on that wiki page. i'm happy to update the wiki page with any relevant information around all of this, but particularly around what were and are 'official' experimental repos.

flexibeast,

gentooexperimental.org belongs to a gentoo dev. It's not official.

contactopublico,

gentooexperimental.org moved hosts. The binary repos need to work to get them back online.
There is no timescale for this.

No, it was not official, and never was. It was owned by a Gentoo developer but that's all.

I think mentioning it on the other wiki page is confusing given it may make an association between them that doesn't exist.

Thanks! i've just added a Note to this effect on the 'Experimental binary package host' wiki page.

Yes, https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Binary_package_quickstart

But noted, for instance that llvm was still at version 16... and glibc at 2.37... a few days after the repo came online.

@sam_:

My personal feeling in these sort of situations is to make it explicit that the two things aren't related, because my experience is that with the same word involved, and in the absence of such an explicit statement, people are more likely than not to assume that the same thing is involved, and to then misinform others as a result ("Well, there was gentooexperimental.org, but then that became the experimental binary repo hosted at gentoo.osuosl.org, and then the binary repo became official ...").
