|

Our university will soon introduce NAC (Network Access Control), and for this i need to configure the ethernet connection on my computer for 802.1x. I intend to use the NetworkManager tool nmcli to do this.
While i know what the possible properties are, which nmcli offers for 802.1x, and know how to set them, i still have some questions:
- once the 802.1x properties are set, do i have to activate them somehow? If yes, how?
- will the changes made to a connection be realized even though i don't use NetworkManager to manage my networks?
- when is restart my connection with [/etc/init.d/net.enp7s0 start[/b], wil this connection be able do handle 802.1x?
- ho do i 'unset' a setting made for a connection?
Thanks

Hi.
I think your best bet is to read up on RedHat documentation.

| /etc/init.d/net.* scripts are part of net-misc/netifrc, not net-misc/networkmanager. Please use only one of them at the time. Otherwise they will most probably confilct and try to enforce their own rules, leading your network configuration in an unknown state. _________________ ..: Zucca :..
