I am trying to use vivaldi or chrome to join ms teams meeting using this link:
https://teams.live.com/
I always get the "sorry we could not connect you" message and my journal is flooded with:
Code: | Aug 03 15:18:39 t14 slim[1447]: [1488:1494:0803/151839.105062:ERROR:ssl_client_socket_impl.cc(978)] handshake failed; returned -1, SSL error code 1, net_error -101
Aug 03 15:18:39 t14 slim[1447]: [1488:1494:0803/151839.187238:ERROR:ssl_client_socket_impl.cc(978)] handshake failed; returned -1, SSL error code 1, net_error -101 |
I do not even know where to begin with this one, but here are my use flags:
Code: | [ebuild R ] www-client/google-chrome-114.0.5735.198::gentoo USE="-qt5 (-selinux)" L10N="-af -am -ar -bg -bn -ca -cs -da -de -el -en-GB -es -es-419 -et -fa -fi -fil -fr -gu -he -hi -hr -hu -id -it -ja -kn -ko -lt -lv -ml -mr -ms -nb -nl -pl -pt-BR -pt-PT -ro -ru -sk -sl -sr -sv -sw -ta -te -th -tr -uk -ur -vi -zh-CN -zh-TW" 0 KiB

May I ask what M$ teams does that jitsi doesn't?
Being both google and M$'s cash cow, now that's beyond selling your soul for "convenience". _________________ My overlay: https://github.com/stefan11111/stefan_overlay

Does Jitsi interoperate seamlessly with a Microsoft Teams meeting? OP may need this to communicate with corporate users who have a corporate standard of Microsoft Teams as the only way to meet. Corporate IT is infamous for preferring packaged products over free ones. |

I think it still somewhat worked a while back with Firefox, but I normally use the Linux "desktop web client" still, so haven't tried in a while (also for work... but will take me a while more to try this again).
Yeah, the "desktop web client" can't even be downloaded from official sources any longer, but it somewhat works still while I have it installed... They seem very keen on getting people not using Windows (and maybe those using Windows) to move to the "Progressive Web App" version, which I do believe only works on browsers based on Chrom{e,ium}.
Is the non-PWA gone now? _________________ Kindest of regardses. |

Oh, yeah, the download certainly will, but there are two different web apps nowadays... because apparently we didn't have enough web app. The new thing is called "progressive web app".
I'm thinking you're probably seeing the regular web app, since it seems the pwa pops up a window on the browser to make you "install" it (on Chromey browsers). _________________ Kindest of regardses. |

Try www-client/google-chrome: Code: | google-chrome-stable --disable-extensions --disable-plugins --disable-sync -–no-experiments --app=https://teams.microsoft.com |
