Hi,
I am on Apple (intel) hardware, and in order to run linux i use the T2 linux kernel, which was made to work nice with 2018 or later macbooks. It seems that the Gentoo and generic kernels they maintain are slightly old, however they regularly maintain a Fedora kernel. Would it be possible (and practical) to use / compile / port that maintained T2 fedora kernel into a gentoo system? and would there be any disadvantage to doing this?
Any Apple Gentoo runners who may have an alternate solution?

joshthepathfinder,

Welcome to Gentoo.

You can use any kernel you want to under Gentoo, even Fedora.
It's not possible to use RPM to install it though.
How you install a Fedora kernel depends on if you will use a binary or source package.

This branch has been deprecated. Please checkout the Mainline or LTS branches.

That makes me think that T2 support has been merged into the upstream kernel. I didn't check.
Also the T2 patch set is 4 months old.
