Hey there folks,
I have always wanted to contribute to open source in one way or another and one of the best ways I can think about is by starting to package programs that aren't in the repos and I use myself, as that gives me more motivation to actually see it through!
I have tried looking up a comprehensive guide on how to make ebuilds for new apps, but so far they have left me quite puzzled.
For now I have this app in mind specifically, since the installation instructions are laid out very clearly.
I was wondering if any of you could give me some advice on how I could go about packaging this or any other app in general.
Thank you very much! |

You should read Gentoo Development guide at least the General concepts and Ebuild Writing chapters to understand the basic concepts.
The program seems python based and you should also read Gentoo Python Guide.
Looking at existing ebuilds is also a source of useful information. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |
