Hi,
I have on occasions issues connecting to this forum. Usually the error is
"phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database"
and lasts anywhere from seconds to minutes. Is this known, due to maintenance or something yet unexplained? Other services work just fine during this so seem to be specific to the Gentoo forum. I have done my part of the fault finding such as clearing browser caches, restarts etc. This has had no effect so far, but as understood, working again...

It is known at least to the extent that I've mentioned it to the Gentoo Infra Team. :]
I haven't seen if they found the cause for it though. Could be/have been them crawlers doing their thing a bit too excitedly...
