Hi,

durch Unachtsamkeit oder dummer Fehler (kann man bennen wie man möchte) hab ich bzip2 Deinstalliert und bekomme es nicht wieder Installiert.
Versucht habe ich folgendes und war Erfolglos:

    1. Stage3-Archive gedownloadet
    2. Stage3-Archive entpackt
    3. Chroot in das Stage3
    4.source /etc/profile
    5. quickpkg app-arch/bzip2 (ergibt bzip2-1.0.8-r4-1.xpak)
    6. aus der Chrootumgebung gegangen
    7. in mein Gentoo chrootet
    8. mit qxpak -x entpackt (tar -C funktioniert nicht)
    9. mit emerge -v1 --usepkg=y installiert


es läuft irgendwie alles auf

kann es was bringen wenn man dir die bzip2 binary zur Verfügung stellt?

Ich denke wenn du mal ein emerge --info reinstellst, sollte sicherlich jemand mit der gleichen arch zu finden sein.

hm, versuche mal in /etc/portage/make.conf diesen eintrag hinzuzufügen.

wenn ich dein log richtig verstehe funktioniert das bauen, aber danach geht irgendwas schief.
PORTAGE_COMPRESS ist defaultmäßig bzip2, und portage versucht nach dem bauen text dateien (readmes, manpages...) zu komprimieren.
Das schlägt wohl fehl. wenn man PORTAGE_COMPRESS leer setzt werden die Dateien nicht komprimiert, und es sollte gehen

Wiso extra bereitstellen? Er hat doch ein stage 3 archiv daraus kann er sich auch alles rauskopieren.
im falle des bzip2 binaries werden nur drei teile benötigt.

/bin/bip2 (bzw. /usr/bin/bzip2, hab hier ein merge-usr system laufen das ist /bin und /usr/bin zusammengefasst)
/usr/lib64/libbz2.so.1.0.8
/usr/lib64/libbz2.so.1 (symlink auf libbz2.so.1.0.8 )

im stage3 archiv muss es nicht die 1.0.8 sein. Im grunde neben /usr/lib64/libbz2.so.1 auch die datei kopieren auf die /usr/lib64/libbz2.so.1 zeigt

Meine Vermutung war, dass der Versuch mit dem stage3 halt nicht funktioniert hat, warum auch immmer, und deswegen die Idee mit einer Alternative.

@Banana Du hast recht - der Versuch mit dem Stage3 hatte nicht funktioniert weil ->
@Firefly Auch Du recht hast - ich hab das mit dem Quickpkg irgendwie durcheinander gebracht weil ich nach einer Anleitung aus dem Wiki gegangen bin und das auch noch zum späten Abend.

Auf jedenfall hat mir der Vorschlag von Firefly geholfen, es funktioniert wieder - wenn er beim Mergen von Bzip2 auch wegen File-Kollisionen meckert :-).
Falls jemand Fragt warum Mergen von Bzip2 - beim Update per "Emerge -uDav world" wollte das System Bzip2 mit installieren.

Das ich überhaupt Bzip2 zerlegt hatte lag daran, das ich das Overlay von "Poly-C" wegen Seamonkey mit drin habe und gelesen hatte das das Bzip2 aus seinem Overlay manchmal Unvorteilhaft wäre und da Bzip2 ein Systemtool ist wollte ich auf das vom Gentoo-Overlay umstellen ...

Das wäre einfacher gegangen als das paket zu deinstallieren.
einfach bzip im overlay maskieren (get über :<overlayname>)

Es hätte da gereicht in der package.mask ein
