Some of you are probably familiar with ExGent edition of Gentoo.
This time - original kernel. New version, jan 2023.
Maybe someone would like to try.

https://exgent.exton.net/

My question is - where to find configuration file of kernel in order to modify and delete unneded drivers etc ?
Tried with /usr/src, there are some files, but I can't find .conf file.
Anyone can help ?

Considering all your previous posts, I am starting to think you are spamming or trolling this forum.

RIA77,

Look in /proc/config.gz, if its there. The kernel module that provides thah file need not be built at all or it may need to be loaded.
There are also some scripts in the kernel source code that can extract the kernel config.

I'll guess that your network uses the discredited insecure tkip security.
The right fix is to reconfigure your wireless access point to not do that, if its still compatible with all the devices that will use it.
A poor second, from the security point of view, is to set USE=tkip and be aware that your WiFi radio link is not secure.

rab0171610,

We have users of all ages and abilities. That's abilities both in Gentoo and the English language.
When you allow for that spectrum of users, I don't see any signs of spamming or trolling.

RIA77,

When your PC tries to connect, it will leave a few lines at the end of dmesg.
All of dmesg would be good, the likes about the Wifi will be enough.

I am not trying to connect, there is no wifi network of mine.
The same if I disconnect router from power source.
Gentoo does not see my wifi network.

RIA77,

Log into your router.
What does it say about encryption?
Does it mention tkip?

We can test this another way.
In your Gentoo USE in make.conf, add tkip.
Rebuild everything that is affected.

Restart the wifi, is that any different?

If you still have problems after following Neddy's latest post, please describe to us exactly how you determined that a problem exists. What command(s) did you run on Gentoo? Show their full output. Describe to us what output you expected to get from those commands, and if it is not obvious to us, how the expected output differs from the output you post here.

Thank you very much. Solved, it was tkip. You were right.
