This occurs with >evince-41.3 and >file-roller-3.40.0

Any experience to share in this respect?

export GTK_THEME=Adwaita:dark
is dirty enough to require manual update whenever theme is changed.
At least evince & file-roller have proper theming here in GTK3 desktop.
