Does anyone know how to remedy this problem?
Ah I ran that in an Eterm window if that makes any different.

I don't use snes9x anymore since i discovered zsnes ("emerge zsnes").
It's much better, i suggest to just switch to zsnes. |

Have you tried running it as root?
Also, GL build of ZSNES CVS here, and I have several other CVS builds in that directory. http://home.earthlink.net/~kode54/files/zsnes
This build has numerous hacks over CVS, including full sectioning of variables. The current ZSNES code uses a hack similar to QuakeWorld to make entire code sections writable simply because they were originally coded with a bunch of variables just placed right after the functions that used them, without sectioning them to .data or .bss. Unfortunately, various alignment changes my sectioning cause bring out some other dormant bugs in newgfx engine. It won't assemble with nasm 0.98.08+ linux built without -O0, which wasn't the default in some older versions.
Also, includes some speed hacks to the APU code, and some others to the SPC-700 that allow FF3e/FF6j to run somewhat faster, if not already 60/60. I'd provide a patch against current CVS, but it'd probably be rather large.
Oh yeah, also changed the way gl_draw.c does scanlines, the original method seemed to darken the whole picture with nvidia-glx 29.60 or wtf. The version escapes me at the moment as I am away from my Linux box while it performs reiserfsck --rebuild-tree > |
