No sound, also can't enable pipewire to run at start (OpenRC, there is no script for pipewire/wireplumber), when i start "dbus-run-session gentoo-pipewire-launcher", nothing happens.

command output:
Code:

Didn't helped, still "Dummy output" as output and no sound...
Also, i did set USE="-pulseaudio" at start of installation, now i set it to USE="pulseaudio" and recompiled world, with
Code:

# emerge --ask @world

It recompiled libcanberra

yeah, i was just trying to get somehow init files, it didnt let me compile with it, i checked ebuild source code, system-service depends on systemd, which disable in USE
Code:

[ebuild   R    ] media-video/pipewire-0.3.56:0/0.4::gentoo  USE="dbus gstreamer sound-server ssl udev -X -bluetooth -doc -echo-cancel -extra -jack-client -jack-sdk -lv2 -pipewire-alsa* (-system-service) -systemd -test -v4l -zeroconf" ABI_X86="(64) -32 (-x32)"

I find out what the problem!
So, i tried to connect my headsets, and it worked perfectly!
I guess ALSA just don't have some drivers (only internal speakers doesn't work) or something, but anyway.
Do i need to enable drivers, or should i make pipewire use pulse?
Should i post my kernel config?

EDIT: I didn't even had to start pipewire from terminal, it worked when i booted and connected.

Provide sound server using ALSA and bluetooth devices
from https://packages.gentoo.org/useflags/sound-server

try with
Code:
USE="pipewire-alsa sound-server" emerge -1av pipewire

you use OpenRC - don't mix it with systemd stuff and please go through the Wiki (again) and take your time.

i did that already, didn't worked.
ALSA missing drivers for internal speakers.

Code:

$ lspci | grep Audio

no offence, just an advice :)

you should clean up your package.use file, because you've entries at the beginning and at the end, regarding pipewire :!:

it's more clean if you use specific entries for every package instead of one file.

Code:
tree /etc/portage/package.use/
/etc/portage/package.use/
├── aalib
├── all_with_X
├── bspwm
├── ctags
├── dav1d
├── doxygen
├── ffmpeg
├── firefox
├── fish
├── geany-plugins
├── gentoo-sources
├── gexiv2
├── glfw
├── greetd

├── timezone-data
├── ungoogled-chromium

├── xine-ui

EDIT:

yes, for intel onboard you need some codecs - activate all, there's no harm to do so.

if you try with dist-kernel is your sound working?

i don't know, many files seems a bit confusing, also creates new index for every file, which not good.
my package.use is simply file general and 00cpu-flags

then it's easy to solve :twisted: :roll:

just look at dmesg logs which codec is loaded/used.

then i guess would be cleaner to disable other codecs? and only used will be enabled.
im compiling kernel right now.
