thank you for succinctness for the answer. ;-) I was more interested in, was this a setup for a diversion while conducting the install. a.k.a. would i be able to play while the install went on????

No, its not, but that would be cool! Most others just have solitare for you to play. Hmm, wonder if its doable... Although, I have yet to get the livecd with UT2003 working. It will boot up, pci-setup, x-setup all works, but when I actually try to run UT2003 it locks up with a blank screen. But its definately a great idea to play while the machine does its install...

I agree, that would rock, hell anything to keep me from being bored to tears during emerge system. If you figure out a way to play while emergeing put up a post.

Well, maybe UT can prove some problems, you don't want it to crash during install and your FPS would'nt be that good unless you have a real monster machine (or make the installprocess very nice).

But some textmode games could easily be included. Just compile some staticly linked games (why not Nethack? Or better yet - Angband) and put on the CD before starting the installation, then play it in a virtual console! That way you'll hope the installation will never end. Well, atleast almost. :)
