thank you for succinctness for the answer. I was more interested in, was this a setup for a diversion while conducting the install. a.k.a. would i be able to play while the install went on???? |

No, its not, but that would be cool! Most others just have solitare for you to play. Hmm, wonder if its doable... Although, I have yet to get the livecd with UT2003 working. It will boot up, pci-setup, x-setup all works, but when I actually try to run UT2003 it locks up with a blank screen. But its definately a great idea to play while the machine does its install... |

I agree, that would rock, hell anything to keep me from being bored to tears during emerge system. If you figure out a way to play while emergeing put up a post. |

Well, maybe UT can prove some problems, you don't want it to crash during install and your FPS would'nt be that good unless you have a real monster machine (or make the installprocess very nice).
But some textmode games could easily be included. Just compile some staticly linked games (why not Nethack? Or better yet - Angband) and put on the CD before starting the installation, then play it in a virtual console! That way you'll hope the installation will never end. Well, atleast almost.
