I added "GRUB_PLATFORMS="pc" after I install grub per handbook.
Here is my output from grub-install

Now this error:

How can I totally clear /boot/ and start from scratch.
I am doing and openrc with bios boot.
/boot ext4
swap
/ ext4

I can boot now after compiling the kernel.
I still have a few problems.
