Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to install the closed source driver for my RX570 amd gpu. I already have amdgpu driver and installed amdgpu-pro driver (but somehow still it does not get detected in lolminer) so I'm trying to install net-p2p/ethminer but I keep getting errors, I'm trying to achieve either compile and install ethminer or find a way to let other ETC miners detect my gpu (like lolminer)

here is logs:

That's your emerge output, not build log. ;) Although it tells where your actual build log is located:
Quote:
Code:
* The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/net-p2p/ethminer-0.13.0/temp/build.log'.
... but anyway. Looking at the repository where it came from...

net-p2p/ethminer: remove package

The package is severely out of date and reportedly
causing issues in gentoo.

You should find a up-to-date source for your ethminer first.

Why the closed source?
I'd try with: x11-drivers/xf86-video-amdgpu and dev-libs/amdgpu-pro-opencl. After that check that your GPU is selected (with eselect) as an OpenCL card. While unoffical from AMD's point on view, that's how I've managed to get OpenCL working before.
You could also go the ROCm way... I haven't tested it yet.

I think this program is dead upstream, the repository has been archived by the owner.

Indeed it is.

@esmailelbob: You might want to search for some other maintained miner then.

Sorry for late reply, I was reinstalling gentoo. I know it's dead but I thought other compiled miners won't work ? so this is why I was trying to build this miner specifically

Last but not least, dev-libs/amdgpu-pro-opencl yields an error:
Code:

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Code:
Fetch instructions for dev-libs/amdgpu-pro-opencl-20.40.1147286:
 * Please download Radeon Software for Linux version 20.40 for Ubuntu 20.04.1 from
 *     https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-amdgpu-unified-linux-20-40
 * The archive should then be placed into your distfiles directory.

Due to license restrictions you have to download it manually and move it to /var/cache/distfiles/.

Hmm, it fails

Code:

eselect opencl list
!!! Error: Can't load module opencl
exiting

Looking more online i can't install eselect opengl
Code:

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "app-eselect/eselect-opengl".

and a post saying I really do not need it, but I need your confirmation https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8433688.html?sid=0dfa73174dfdc80e22d402660a69b4bf#8433688

Yes. It seems so!
I just tried it too.
Maybe I need to test out some opencl fractal rendering then to see if it really works.
