Before I go ahead and install VirtualBox and try to figure out completely GUI-free VM management that way, I thought I'd ask if there are better ways to install a Gentoo VM on my headless Ubuntu server. All I will ever need is a command line interface on the Gentoo VM. It will just be for building catalyst tarballs and working on ebuilds. Virtualbox will install a lot of X11 stuff that I will never use. I can ignore all that, but I'm wondering if for this purpose something else will be more efficient. _________________ decibel Linux: https://decibellinux.org

You can try with qemu or also with a chroot. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Obviously, mount proc, sys, dev, and dev/pts on top of stage 3 before locking yourself up inside. |
