Hi

Today noticed a problem connecting to one of my servers with gFTP. It works fine with gFTP on my older PC, or via command line from this box, so it's not the server end, but something specific locally.

Connection log:

Code:

220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [privsep] [TLS] ----------
220-You are user number 1 of 50 allowed.
220-Local time is now 20:45. Server port: 21.
220-This is a private system - No anonymous login
220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
USER xxxxxxxx
331 User xxxxxx OK. Password required
PASS xxxx
230 OK. Current directory is /
FEAT
TYPE I
200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary
CWD /
250 OK. Current directory is /
PWD
257 "/" is your current location
Loading directory listing / from server (LC_TIME=en_ZA.utf8)
Cannot bind a port: Cannot assign requested address
Disconnecting from site xx.xx.xx.xx

Any ideas?

Never seen this before.

Old PC is at gFTP 2.0.19
New PC with problem is gFTP 2.9.1b

Thanks, Ian

Are you behind a firewall?
Plz find an option like this
Code:

pasv_enable=Yes
pasv_max_port=10100
pasv_min_port=10090

in your pure-ftpd server and open all these ports on your firewall
This is from vsftpd.
I dont know the syntax for pure-ftpd though.
Bedore doing anything plz try with lftp though.

FTP server has been working fine for years ant works fine with older version of gFTP on other PC, or command line ftp.

Just went through the settings on the new version, which are "different" to old version, but all looks okay.

There are firewalls at server and local network but all was working fine ...

On the other hand, the new version seems to work fine to my OTHER server ... I will have to cross-check the config files on the servers to see what is different.

Thanks, Ian

Have downgraded to old version, which works.

Have posted issue on Github.
