EDIT: Resolved after updating kobo to latest software version, 4.33.19611

Hi everyone, I recently bought a new Rakuten Kobo Libra 2 (https://us.kobobooks.com/products/kobo-libra-2) which I'm struggling to connect to my computer.

When I connect my Kobo to the computer via USB, I get the following in dmesg:

Code:

I think this is a udev issue? This is the udev rule I have written:
Code:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}="1d6b", ATTRS{idProduct}="0106", GROUP="usb", MODE="0666", SYMLINK+="kobo"

I am not able to see the device in lsusb or lsblk or interact with it in any way. I don't really understand udev rules and just took an existing rule I had to write to get an RTLSDR dongle to work and just replaced what looked like the relevant strings.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Seems like a hardware issue to me. Have you tried a different USB cable? Plugging into a different USB port? Plugging into a different computer?

I only have the one USB cable and one computer available at the moment to test, but I have noticed that it only gets this far on one specific USB port. Any other port I don't even get a response from udevadm monitor.

Etal, I've tried it now with a different USB cable (the one it came with, no less) and plugging it in to another Gentoo PC as well as a Windows 10 PC. The Windows 10 PC mounts it correctly and the Gentoo PCs show the same error - device not accepting address, error -71.

EDIT: This was resolved after updating my kobo to the latest software version, 4.33.19611
