I have upgraded to tigervnc-1.12-r5 and now it no longer workers. When I start tigervnc I get the following message:
Quote: | Could not acquire name on session bus. |
I am not what is happening. I am running both a physical display as well as the virtual tigervnc display. I am using MATE as the desktop environment. |

Have you seen this article? Does one of the 3 proposed solutions fix the issue? |

I've tried all those and none of the solutions work. I'm sure what happened Tigervnc was working perfectly using Code: | systemctl --user start vncserver@:1 | However, with the upgrade this option is no longer available and I get the could not acquire name on session bus error.

Ah, so it's about the server, not the client.
Are there any messages in the journal? Please run
after 'systemctl --user start vncserver@:1' fails and post all messages from the VNC server. |

I get the following entry in journalctl Quote: | mate-session[1796]: WARNING: Failed to acquire org.gnome.SessionManager |
Could this have something to do with could not acquire name on session bus error? |

Looks like the server changed significantly. vncserver command disappears from man page (leads to vncsession), does not accept arguments anymore (requires some config setup) and vncsession cannot be started from user account.
Still working to restore my workflow |
