This will allow an easy method of contacting all moderators at one time.
  • Users:
    • If you spot what you believe to be a duplicate post, please post a link to it here. In addition, include a link to what is being duplicated.
    • If you find a post you think belongs in a different forum, let us know.
    • Avoid multiple reports of spam:
      • If a user's posts are all spam, report the user, not the posts.
      • Review this thread after submitting a report. Please delete your report if someone beat you to the punch.
    • Any other post that you think requires moderation (violations of Guidelines, broken BBcode, etc.).

  • Moderators:
    • Please delete posts after you've addressed them.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I'm going to leave it for now, hoping they add a URL. They copied this thread and oddly took the time to improve the formatting. --pjp

[Moderator note: this is discussed at some length in Filtering by username. Also, given that you disagree with the username, it would make more sense to use Report this user from the user's profile page, than to report a specific post by that user. As of this note, there has been no resolution reached. I will leave this report here until that discussion thread reaches a conclusion, one way or the other. -Hu]

User: ndb2020
Reason:
I haven't locked in for a while an I couldn't remenber password and username. That's why I registered with this name "ndb2020" again. Now I have found my old user "ndbg2" and reactivated the account.

I would like to keep "ndbg2".
email: Removed by Neddyseagoon
You could delete user "ndb2020".
email: Removed by Neddyseagoon@gmail.com

I hope this is the correct way. Couldn't find a possibility to delete my account somewhere.

An email to forum-mods@gentoo.org is preferred. Thats public and we get lots of spam anyway, so posting it here again won't make any difference.
We cannot delete used accounts bu if you write to the above address we may be able to merge them. -- NeddySeagoon

-- edit --

Your unused account is disabled. The unused account reaper will remove it in the fullness of time.

There seems to be a conflict between pulseaudio and pipewire. For now I made the quick solution of not starting pipewire by moving /etc/xdg/autostart/pipewire.desktop. Log out, log in, eventually 'killall pipewire' and that's it.

Topic: Does Gentoo focus currently more on systemd?
Post: post 8717804
Reason: => Gentoo Chat.

Probably not. The topic is showing signs of descending into pantomime like so many systemd topics before it.
If it can be rescued, its OK where it is. if not, like so many systemd topics before it, it can be locked and left where it is.

As a native English speaker, from England, I don't see it.
I can see a way both your posts and asturms posts can give offence but that's a limitation of the written word.
Offence is taken, not given. No action required, except perhaps, banging your heads together.

Considering the behaviour, I'm starting to think that this is someone who got bored in that other place so they created a pure drama account over here. Same behavioral pattern from start to finish.

User: pietinger
Topic: Umgang mit einem Troll
Post: This whole thread is an accumulation of insults (forbidden and punishable by law in Germany) by pietinger against a user.
Reason: Abuse of power as a moderator

Viciously pursues a user with his comments and actions.
Post: post 8706959

He writes the most vicious insults against users.
Post: post 8707364

He censors, moves and hides user posts in the moderator area because he can't delete the posts.
Post: post 8707262

Uses radical right-wing fighting words.
Post: post 8718698

He hurts religious sentiments.
Post: post 8718737

He is misanthropic and claims that people with little gentoo knowledge are worth nothing.
Post: post 8718725

Result:
He is disturbing the peace of the forum.
By doing so, he damages the good reputation of the Gentoo forum.

Consequence: Not suitable as a Gentoo Moderator.

EDIT 16.06.22
Suggestion of Dispute Settlement:
pietinger should apologize to the user arfe, delete his insults against him and give up his moderator job.

Unless someone else in the moderator team also speaks German, this one is going to be hard :P

We are looking into the complaint but its going to be slow. Personally, I don't have any German at all. Putting posts through Google translate didn't help my understanding of the topic either.
It rather reminded me of the machine translation of the English saying "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" into Russian.
The meaning came out as "The meat is rotten but the vodka is good".

I suspect that colloquialisms and language nuances (if German has them) will be important, so machine translation won't help.
Even if its a sentient machine :)

translate.google.com may be your friend.
(Just remember it may be sentient ;-) ... it? they? what pronouns for a sentient AI?)
